Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Senior Embedded Software Engineer | Dublin | Hybrid | Permanent

Our client, is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to lead the development of firmware for next-generation connected devices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test embedded C firmware on ARM microcontrollers.
• Define firmware architecture and contribute to technical direction.
• Develop low-level drivers and peripheral interfaces.
• Work with RTOS and bare-metal environments.
• Lead board bring-up and hardware/software integration.
• Debug and optimise complex embedded systems.
• Produce technical documentation in a regulated environment.
• Mentor engineers and carry out code reviews.

Requirements

• 8+ years' embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong embedded C programming skills.
• Extensive experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Strong experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr or similar) and bare-metal development.
• In-depth knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, DMA and other communication interfaces.
• Strong debugging skills using JTAG, oscilloscopes and logic analysers.
• Experience designing firmware architecture for production products.

Nice to Have

• Medical device experience (IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
• BLE or other wireless technologies.
• Secure boot or firmware security.
• Embedded Linux, C++, Python or CI/CD experience.
